Inauguration of MMIT IEEE Student Branch
The Inauguration Ceremony of Marathwada Mitra Mandal's Institute of Technology (MMIT) IEEE Student Branch was conducted on 17th January 2025 Friday from 2.15 PM to 4.45 PM. At Room E-104 of Computer Engineering Department. The Chief Guest for this function was Dr Amar Buchade-IEEE Pune Section Chair 2025. The event was graced by dignitaries from IEEE Pune Section like Prof Abhijit Khurape- IEEE Pune Section Secretary 2025, Mr Rakshit Jain- Secretary, Geographic Strategy, IEEE CS SYP and SSRs of IEEE Pune Section.
The event started by Deep Prajwalan and Digital Inauguration of the Branch through the hands of dignitaries. The guests were felicitated by Dr Subhash Rathod- HOD Computer Engineering and Student Branch Chair Mr Sankalp Indish, by presenting a Floral Welcome Plant.
Dr Monika Dangore- Branch Counsellor in her speech, highlighted the Achievements of IEEE Student Branch Committee Members in participating IEEE Activities like IEEE Smart Village, IEEE Xtreme, IEEE Eureka 2024 and the latest-Future Journalist Challenge 2025 and explained the remarkable journey from MMIT IEEE Club to MMIT IEEE Student Branch.
Dr Subhash Rathod- HOD Computer Engineering, in his speech, appreciated the work of the Branch Officers and expressed thanks to IEEE Pune Section Authorities to extend their support for the growth of MMIT IEEE Student Branch.
Dr Amar Buchade- IEEE Pune Section Chair 2025, in his speech, threw light on the various opportunities that IEEE offers including grants, fundings, awards, scholarships etc and appealed the branch to make the most of the opportunities provided by IEEE.
Mr Rakshit Jain- Secretary, Geographic Strategy, IEEE CS SYP, in his speech, elaborated on the various opportunities that IEEE offers in the field of volunteering at Section and Council level and how it is beneficial to the professional and technical growth of students.
Mr Sankalp Indish- Student Branch Chair, presented the Action Plan of MMIT Student Branch for future ventures like opening IEEE Computer Society Chapter, IEEE Educational Initiatives, Humanitarian Initiatives, Food Donation Drives, Social Visits etc.
After the enlightening speeches by all the dignitaries, Felicitation of MMIT IEEE Achievers was done where the IEEE Smart Village, IEEE Xtreme and IEEE Eureka 2024 Achievers were presented with Trophies and Certificates. All the Branch Officers were also welcomed with badges.
One of the main highlights of this event was the Final Round of “The Future Journalist Challenge 2025”- A National Level News Reporting Competition organized by MMIT Student Branch, sponsored by IEEE Pune Section. In this round the Top-5 News Videos were presented to the Juries for evaluation along with the MMIT IEEE SB Ambassador News Video created by Branch Chair.

The inaugural event concluded with closing remarks by Branch Counsellor. All the students and staff members attending the event were extremely benefited by the valuable information being shared on IEEE Global Opportunities. The event received tremendous response and appreciation from all the attendees.
