GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL

MECHANISM :

The Committee Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) is formed as per Clause 1 of section 23 of the AICTE Act, 1987 (52 of 1987) AICTE & and as per the letter No. 1-101/DPG/AICTE/Ombudsman/2012 dated 9th July 2012.This cell at MMIT is formed to provide a fair, safe and harmonious work environment.Grievance Redressal Cell hears the grievances in a fair, impartial and confidential manner.

OBJECTIVES :

  • To ensure a consistant mechanism for Redressal of various issues faced by the students, parents and employees.
  • To maintain cordial Student – Student relationship, Student- Teacher relationship, Teacher- Teacher relationship.
  • To initiate accountable and responsible attitude among all to have a harmoniousm environment in the College campus.
  • To resolve grievances in schduled time with complete confidentiality.

GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL :

The Redressal cell considers only formal grievances and on the principles of natural jusyice.

The structure of the cell is as follows.

FUNCTIONS:

  • To conduct formal hearings and merit of grievances and to hold the invesigation according to the case.
  • To investigate grievances subjected to policy with privacy and confidentiality.
  • To work out a resoution of the issues to obtain the facts through relevant sources in a fair manner.
  • To ensure disposal of every application in a maximum period of one month of the receipt of application. 

TYPES OF GRIEVANCES :

The Grievances may broadly include the following complaints of the aggrieved students

  • Academic issues
  • Non-Academic issues
  • Extra – curricular and Extension
  • Amenities and Maintenance
  • Placement and Internships
  • General Administration
  • Harassment by colleague students or the teachers etc

 

PROCEDURE FOR REDRESSAL OF GRIEVANCES :

  • The student or Parent or Staff member who want to place a grievance shall bring the issue first to the Head of the respective Department who try to resolve the issue.
  • The respective Department unable to solve the grievance or grievent is dissatisfied with the resolution the the grievant is free to approach the Grievance Redressal cell.
  • The cell is not satisfied with the resoltion decided by the respective department or upon the grievant written request then cell cell will fix a date for hearing and intimation is given to the respective department and also to the grievant.
  • If the solution is not found through hearing then cell will have the right to interview witnesses and make all the efforts to find a resolution on the issue.
  • The investigation report will be submitted to the Head of the Institution.
  • After completion of proceedings the Grievance Redressal Cell and Head of the Institution communictes the decision to both the parties.
  • The disposal of the grievance is considered and closed whenii.The grievant has not responded within two weeks from the date of receipt of information on resolution.
  • The grievant accepts the resolution
  • The proceedings of each grievance should be documented systematically and all the members of Grievance Redressal Cell.
